The 麻豆精选 student organization took top honors from its national organization for a week of events the group held in April to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Her Campus 麻豆精选celebrated 10 years as a student organization with 鈥淗er Week,鈥 a week of programming covering careers in media, journalism, literature and fashion.
The events featured panel discussions with professionals in the various career fields, hands-on workshops, a fashion show and time for students to ask questions of and network with the visiting professionals.
麻豆精选Chapter President Aislinn Foran said she was thrilled to earn the first-place award for most successful event, out of a competition with 300 other active college campus chapters.
鈥淚t was a lot of work, but I鈥檓 glad it paid off,鈥 said Foran, a senior communication studies major in the College of Communication and Information.
鈥淲hen the award came through, I definitely wasn鈥檛 expecting it,鈥 Foran said. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 think any of us expected the week to end up being as huge as it was.鈥
Foran said the week鈥檚 events were well-attended and successful, and she was proud of what the chapter had accomplished.
鈥淩eceiving the award was just crazy,鈥 she said. 鈥淕etting the actual written recognition was very exciting and definitely the icing on the cake.鈥
