Kent community members gather at annual May 4 commemoration

On May 3-4, 2024, Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ will hold its annual commemoration honoring the memory of May 4, 1970, a tragic day when the Ohio National Guard fired on Â鶹¾«Ñ¡students during an anti-war protest on campus, killing four students, wounding nine others and sparking a turning point in American history.

Especially in early April, Flashes should keep an eye out for the rare, tri-color squirrels on campus. They're a result of cross-breeding between black, gray and red squirrels.

A spectacular season led the Golden Flashes women's basketball team to a MAC Championship win and a trip to NCAA March Madness.

Flashes gathered on Thursday to give the Golden Flashes women's basketball team a spectacular send off as they boarded the bus for their first NCAA championship game against Notre Dame. 

Men's Basketball 2024 MAC Championship Game

The Â鶹¾«Ñ¡Golden Flashes men's basketball participated in their third consecutive season of MAC championship play. In a hard-fought final game, the Akron Zips narrowly outscored the Golden Flashes to advance to the NCAA championship playoffs.
