The Dean of Students serves as the university's primary student advocate and assists the Senior Vice President for Student Life in the leadership of the division.
The Dean of Students manages departments that provide advocacy, support, and well-being services. The Dean also works with the Division of Student Life and the broader university community to support students in crisis, promote a culture of advocacy and helping behaviors, encourage students to engage in responsible citizenship and take responsibility for their actions, and engage in community partnership to enhance resources and support for students of Kent State.

The Office of the Dean of Students at Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ exemplifies a ‘students first’ philosophy by cultivating a co-curricular learning environment that fosters engagement, inclusion, and support. The Office of the Dean of Students coordinates services that support students in crisis, families and students when there is a student death, and supports the leadership of the Division of Student Life.
