Personal safety and security used to mean locking your doors and keeping your financial information secret. Today, safety and security have expanded definitions that include readiness for natural disasters, planning for epidemics and preventing intrusion from cyberthieves.
On Wednesday, Sept. 19, from noon-1 p.m., Christopher Woolverton, Ph.D., professor of environmental health sciences in the College of Public Health, will offer practical tips for personal safety and security using the “all-hazards” preparedness model. Attendees will learn basic preparedness skills and apply them to various emergency situations.
