Nominations are now open for the President’s Award of Distinction, recognizing staff members who have demonstrated exceptional performance in advancing Kent State’s strategic goals. Nominations are accepted from peers, supervisors, faculty, students and other university leaders. The deadline to submit nominations is April 15, 2025. Each award recipient will receive $1,500 in recognition of their contributions. Nominations can be submitted on the President’s Award of Distinction website. Questions?

  • April 22, 2025, marks the 55th Anniversary of Earth Day. The Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Earth Month Planning Committee has organized events throughout the month of April. Check out over 40 events hosted by various departments and organizations, and campuses. And don't forget to join the celebration at Earth Fest on April 23! Over 30 on and off campus sustainability-related organizations will be tabling on Risman Plaza from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 23 for a fun-filled Earth Day event.

  • Join us April 9 at noon for the final Cultural Café of the semester! This month, we will host Mawade Sarr, a first-year MA student in Translation Studies. Born in Saint-Louis, a region in the north of Senegal, he has a passion for languages and learning about different cultures. After an insightful presentation about Senegal followed by a Q&A session with Mawade, attendees will enjoy a free lunch featuring a selection of dishes from Senegal. We hope to see you there!

  • Join the School of Fashion for an exciting week of fashion shows and marketplaces. Don't miss a lecture by Hall of Fame inductee, Donald J Pliner. The annual Fashion Show is the main event in the School of Fashion's Fashion Week. Tickets are on sale now! 

  • In one week, Â鶹¾«Ñ¡will be hosting a site visit from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) for the process of renewing our institutional accreditation. This review occurs every ten years and is conducted by a team of experienced reviewers. These reviewers consist of faculty and administrative peers from other universities who will be evaluating all aspects of Â鶹¾«Ñ¡against the five HLC Criteria for Accreditation. The team will also visit the Salem, Geauga, Tuscarawas and Ashtabula campuses. All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate.

  • Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ students, in collaboration with LaConte Consulting, have completed an in-depth study examining the challenges and decision-making approaches faced by 53 Northeast Ohio business leaders in a shifting economy. Â鶹¾«Ñ¡and LaConte Consulting invite you to explore the study findings and follow the students’ progress as they develop innovative solutions to business obstacles.
