The No. 15 Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡ women’s golf team has qualified for the 2017 NCAA National Championship after finishing the NCAA Lubbock Regional in sixth place at 11-over par 875 (305-287-283).
Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡entered the day tied with No. 2 UCLA in sixth place but held its ground and fought off a tough battle from Oregon State. The Beavers shot 10-under par Wednesday and briefly moved ahead of the Golden Flashes, but Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡recorded five birdies as a team over the final six holes, despite some late winds, to secure a two-stroke lead in sixth.
Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡ celebrated its newest graduates at its Spring 2017 Commencement ceremonies. In total, Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡were conferred 5,636 degrees, including 992 associate degrees, 3,319 bachelor’s degrees, 1,139 master’s degrees, 181 doctoral degrees and five educational specialist degrees.
University Libraries will provide opportunities for Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡ students to shake off stress during finals week.
University Libraries will hold its semiannual Stress-Free Zone on Monday, May 8, and Tuesday, May 9, from 3-5 p.m. in the Garden Room on the first floor of University Library. The event is open to all Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡students, faculty and staff.
The No. 12 Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡ men’s golf team won its 24th Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship on April 30 at the Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.
The Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡Golden Flashes finished the four-round tournament with a score of 3-under par 1,149 (287-288-285-289), breaking its own four-round tournament record for team score. Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡won the tournament by 25 strokes, defeating second-place Ball State at 22-over par.
