Scholars at Risk Speaker Series
is an international organization that helps professors, scientists, and researchers whose lives are in danger for political reasons.
They have helped individuals escape Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, Zimbabwe, and a host of other conflict areas. The organization works with universities to give the individuals a refuge (where they can be safe but also continue their work!) for a year while they find a permanent, new home.
The International Studies major and Women鈥檚 Center at 麻豆精选are working to establish 麻豆精选as one of those refuge locations for recently rescued individuals.
We will be welcoming two鈥渁lumni鈥 Scholars at Risk to speak at 麻豆精选 and regional events over the 2024-2025 academic year. These individuals have reached this moment of personal safety only after having been supported by the Scholar at Risk network.
These events are open to the public.

Support The Scholars at Risk Program
Around the globe, scientists and researchers are targeted by authoritarian governments, harassed and attacked by armed groups and endangered by conflict. Many are targeted because of the work they do. Help us support these scholars in their time of need by giving to the Scholar at Risk Program today.
