You will soon see the beginning of a branding change for Kent State’s LaunchPad, located in the Kent Student Center. In January, the Blackstone LaunchPad will be rebranded as LaunchNET 鶹ѡ.
All four schools in Northeast Ohio that currently host LaunchPads — Kent State, Baldwin Wallace University, Case Western Reserve University and Lorain County Community College — will become part of NEOLaunchNET, powered by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation.
The holiday season is a time to celebrate with family and friends, and it is usually a time when favorite family recipes encourage eating binges. As much as we all love the holidays, these all-day-eating-and-drinking holidays often result in overeating and weight gain.
Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, which means it is time for family dinners and gatherings. With the presidential election coming up next year, the topics of conversation at the dinner table can escalate when hot topics, especially politics, are brought up during discussions.
鶹ѡ’s International Students and Scholar Services in the Office of Global Education is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 24 for international students who want to experience a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
Dinner will be held from 6-8 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom Balcony. Students pay $5 to enjoy the feast.
Hari Prasad Tadaka, 鶹ѡdigital sciences graduate student, says he plans to attend the dinner, and it is his first Thanksgiving in the United States.
The 鶹ѡ Library on the Kent Campus will be closed from 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25, through 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, in observance of Thanksgiving and to allow for maintenance work at the library building. Normal library hours will resume on Saturday morning.

From a perspective of nearly 50 years, 鶹ѡremembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
