What are microcredentials?

Microcredentials refer to a set of coherent learning experiences that are non-degree-bearing but are credentialed (i.e., there has been a validation process that skills/competencies have been earned). EHHS microcredentials are non-credit (they are not reflected on a transcript) and sometimes are equated with digital badges. They tend to be offered in shorter or more flexible periods and designed to meet a specific need in the workplace. They tend to focus on a skill or competency and thus are frequently multidisciplinary in nature.

A credential is a set of microcredentials leading to a broader topic. Microcredentials can be earned on their own; however, they can also be taken in sequence to earn the larger credential.

Participants complete the microcredential requirements on their own time, eliminating the need for due dates. After learning is complete, participants submit their evidence for review and pay the administrative fee. Evidence is reviewed by a qualified instructor. Upon satisfactory completion of evidence, participants receive their CEU certificate and digital badge (if applicable).

For those interested in earning credentials, a Credentials Certificate will be sent to the participant upon completion of all microcredentials within the credential.
