Mama Mia! Hospitality and Event Management Friends and Family Dinner

Hospitality and event management students recently held a Friends and Family dinner to raise funds to support the program. Thanks to everyone involved!

"The Friends and Family Dinner is one of my favorite events that the hospitality program puts on because it allows the students to plan an event from start to finish. It also allows us to network with professionals in the industry while reaching out for donations and extending the invitation for them to attend. I am the president of CMAA (Club Management Association of America). During our interactions with club managers in this group leading up to our dinner, it showed me how supportive they are of our education. They really want the most for us, whether it is inviting us to their club to tour, donating to our silent auction, or showing up to support us at our event. The biggest thing I have learned from club managers in the Greater Cleveland Chapter of CMAA and beyond is that they are always willing to help us in any way that they can. This student chapter and our hospitality program truly wants the best for the students and presents us with so many opportunities."

"Being a part of such an amazing program has helped me grow within my career already. Planning the Friends and Family Dinner helped me gain real-world experience in event planning and it helped me make connections in this industry. I would encourage any student in the program to get involved with this, especially CMAA (Club Management Association of America). You get to network with club professionals all over the country and they are always willing to help you. They contributed so much to our Friends and Family Dinner鈥檚 silent auction and many of them from the Greater Cleveland Chapter of CMAA even came to the event to support us! They truly care about the student's education, and it shows. The biggest thing I have taken from this program and CMAA as a whole is there is always someone rooting for you and wanting to help you grow within your career."
