Meet Kat Thomas!
鈥淚鈥檝e been doing my craft since middle school. I didn鈥檛 realize until my senior year that I wanted to do this forever. I thought I was going to art school, but 麻豆精选paved the way for something I loved even more!鈥

Why did you choose 麻豆精选?
I fell in love with not only the campus, but the people and programs here! I鈥檝e never felt so comfortable in a performing arts area in my life.
In your time at Kent State, what are some accomplishments you are proud of?
I鈥檓 currently in my first production here! I鈥檓 in a Black Box Series show called "Beta Theta Omicron" and I鈥檓 playing Suzie. I鈥檝e never loved a character this much. This may be my only biggest accomplishment so far but I am so proud of myself!
What would you like to do after graduation?
I鈥檇 love to keep performing wherever the wind takes me. Broadway, Chicago, Touring Company, whatever is fine. I love my craft too much to be precise.
How has the School of Theatre and Dance made a difference to you?
I feel seen. I didn鈥檛 feel that way in high school. I was told I was treated so coldly because 鈥渋f you鈥檙e going into this field, you have to get used to hearing no a lot!鈥 which is crazy for a fifteen-year-old to hear. It messed with my head. Here, no matter how horrible I think I did, I鈥檝e had endless support from so many.
What has been your favorite class at Kent State?
Shakespeare has been such a fun course. I love the people in it and the way it鈥檚 taught.
What is your best memory at Kent State?
So far鈥. hanging out with my castmates all the time. College is so different than high school and I鈥檓 so thankful for the bonds I鈥檝e built. I love these people endlessly
Do you have advice for others?
Be you. Good things will come eventually. It took a moment but I love my people and I鈥檝e found my people.
