麻豆精选Tuscarawas Nursing Student Selected to National COVID Vaccination Committee

麻豆精选 at Tuscarawas nursing student Andrew Loos has been selected to serve on the Profession Specific National Coordinators committee for mass COVID vaccination.

Over the past year, the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) has been working with the , an interprofessional collaborative of health professions students, to connect student volunteers with COVID testing sites in the most needed areas. 

鈥淭he physician students who started this group have been enthusiastic and adamant about the inclusion of associate degree nursing students,鈥 said 麻豆精选Tuscarawas Associate Degree in Nursing Director Joan Lappin. 鈥淭he NSRN asked OADN members to try to identify a few associate degree nursing students to serve as Profession Specific National Coordinators.鈥 

Lappin said to be considered for the position, individuals must be exceptional in leadership skills, while continuing to manage busy academic schedules.

鈥淚 am very pleased to have a student from our program selected to serve on this national committee,鈥 said Lappin.

Nursing Professor Mariann Harding nominated Loos, a first-level nursing student, to serve on the committee and said he is an excellent student with great communication and organizational skills.

Loos鈥 responsibilities as a Profession Specific National Coordinator include ensuring that outreach is done regularly and thoroughly, working with executive teams to find ways to keep volunteers and student leadership engaged, utilizing and forging connections with key stakeholders, attending National Coordinator Meetings and Profession Specific Coordinator Committee meetings, and collecting data on program specific outreach efforts.
