Dr. Tomich's primary research interests center on studying how individuals adjust to traumatic life experiences. She received her doctorate in experimental psychology from Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ in December of 2000, and continued training as a postdoctoral scholar in the area of psycho-oncology at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh until the Spring of 2005. She then worked for a brief time as a medical marketing researcher for National Analysts in Philadelphia and decided to return to academia to teach and continue her own line of research.  As a tenured Associate Professor of Psychology, she teaches a variety of psychology courses and conducts research in the area of health psychology. To date, she has more than 20 publications in the field and expects future research endeavors to be largely devoted to understanding factors related to the antecedents and consequences of traumatic life events.
