Kent Stateā€™s School of Peace and Conflict Studies was highlighted in a Time magazine article discussing handling differences and difficult conversations after the presidential election. The article contains perspectives from Assistant Professor Johanna Solomon, Ph.D., who discusses how to handle post-election conversations and emotions.


Akron Beacon Journal

Kent Stateā€™s School of Fashion was featured on the front page of the Akron Beacon Journal, as well as the Record-Courier, highlighting the schoolā€™s innovative and collaborative opportunities it has implemented for its students. The article also points out the numerous career paths through fashion design, fashion media and now fashion and the law available to students, in addition to variety of education-away program options, acknowledged by numerous student comments.

Kent Stateā€™s newest academic building, Crawford Hall, took the spotlight in a recent news story for News 5 Cleveland that highlighted a construction management student, Giana Testa, and how the building has allowed for a hands-on learning experience. The article discusses the experience a group of students received as they worked alongside the construction team that built Crawford Hall. Deborah Spake, Ph.D., dean of the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship, provides a tour of Crawford Hall, which serves as her collegeā€™s new home.

Maj. Allison Brager, a Ā鶹¾«Ń”alumna and Army neuroscientist, was highlighted in a recent Spectrum News 1 news clip as the keynote speaker of the universityā€™s annual Veterans Day Commemoration. The story includes Brager discussing the expertise she gained by attending Ā鶹¾«Ń”and explaining why recognizing mental health challenges among veterans is critical.


WKBN-TV (Youngstown)

Kent Stateā€™s Rising Scholars Program was featured in a story by WKBN 27 First News. The television story highlighted seventh through 12th grade students who are part of the Rising Scholars Program in Columbiana County. Students in the program learn about different careers and visit various companies, including WKBN 27 First News. The program offers first-generation college-bound students from Columbiana County and neighboring areas a college access program designed to give them and their families the knowledge, rigorous academic exposure and social support they will need to be successful at a world-class university. The Rising Scholars Program is offered on each of Kent Stateā€™s Regional Campuses.

 


Spectrum News 1 Ohio

Kent Stateā€™s College of Public Health was featured on Spectrum News 1 in a news story that highlighted the results of the Greater Cleveland LGBTQ+ Community Needs Assessment led by the college. The story includes interviews with Andrew Snyder, adjunct faculty at the College of Public Health, and Jehlani White, one of the Ā鶹¾«Ń”graduate assistants who worked on the research project.
