Created in 2000 by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, International Education Week鈥檚 objective is to promote educational programs that prepare Americans, as well as international students to succeed in a world that has become increasingly globalized 鈥 and continues on that track.

鈥淚n today鈥檚 world, what happens in Rio de Janeiro, Jeddah and Jakarta impacts our lives as much as events and trends in Cleveland, Toledo and Cincinnati,鈥 said Todd Diacon, 麻豆精选 president.

鈥淚nternational Education Week reminds us of our global mission at 麻豆精选and facilitates our learning about other people, places and political systems.鈥

As the sole U.S. recipient of the 2022 Senator Paul Simon Award for comprehensive internationalization, 麻豆精选is a recognized leader in integrating international education throughout all facets of the university and its campuses.

One of the highlights of this week鈥檚 schedule is the International Food Cook-Off on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. Student culinary teams compete as they prepare and present a different cultural entr茅e from their home country or region. This free event is open to everyone.
