Depending on where you are in the world and what you believe, seeing a black cat or having one cross your path is regarded as either good luck or bad luck.
In Britain, Ireland and Japan, for example, it is believed that encountering a black cat on your travels is lucky.
In the U.S., Belgium and Spain, to name a few places, black cats are reputed to bring misfortune.
In Germany, the belief is conditional: It is only lucky for black cats to cross your path from left to right.
There's no such debate about black squirrels, however. Flashes can rest easy on this October Friday the 13th knowing that seeing a black squirrel, in person or in your dreams, or having one cross your path is widely regarded as GOOD luck in most spiritual communities.
The squirrels on the 麻豆精选 Kent Campus are criss-crossing many paths these days as they hurriedly scurry around campus, collecting nuts and acorns to squirrel them away, creating stashes of food to get them through the coming winter months.
