Douglas L. Delahanty, PhD

Professional Bio

 

Douglas L. Delahanty is the Vice President for Research and Economic Development, President and CEO of the Research Corporation, and a professor of Psychological Sciences at 麻豆精选 (KSU). He earned his BA/BS at Luther College, his MS at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and his PhD at the University of Pittsburgh.  Dr Delahanty is an expert in the area of trauma and early biopsychological predictors of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  He has written one book, 12 chapters, and more than 140 publications. His research has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, SAMHSA, and other federal and state funding agencies. He has served as PI or co-I on grants totaling more than $12.5 million. Dr. Delahanty is a proud recipient of KSU鈥檚 2015 Outstanding Research and Scholarship Award and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS) 2010 Distinguished Mentorship Award. As the Vice President for Research and Economic Development, Dr. Delahanty is responsible for expanding the university鈥檚 breakthrough research and creative endeavors, as well as enhancing economic development and quality of life locally and globally through the commercialization of discoveries. The offices within Research and Economic Development (R&ED) assist faculty and staff in securing extramural funding to support their research and their instructional and public service projects. The focus is on increasing the quantity and enhancing the quality of scholarly endeavors across the university, and in establishing both private and public partnerships that elevate the research mission of the university. Vice President Delahanty oversees the Office of Sponsored Programs, the Office of Research Compliance, the Office of Technology Commercialization and Research Finance, the Office of Student Research, the Office of Economic Development, and the Office of Research Strategic Initiatives.
