Donate to the Department
Gifts from alumni and friends are crucial to helping us achieve our goals.
Your donation can help us expand learning experiences for undergraduate and graduate students, attract and retain talented faculty and students, conduct cutting-edge research in our labs, and provide reduced-fee mental health services to the community.
Our department is home to some of the world’s leading experts and we are ranked among the best in the nation in our comprehensive approach to memory and mental health research. Our faculty are committed to solving many of today’s biggest problems, including:
- Heart disease and obesity
- Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, and brain injury
- PTSD, anxiety, and depression
- Helping at-risk students perform better in school
- Combating racism
- Fighting the opioid epidemic and other forms of addiction
We invite you to help us achieve our goals for the future by contributing to any of the department funds below. You may direct your gift to a specific area or program, or make an unrestricted gift to the Chair's Discretionary Fund that the Department can use for its greatest needs.
Special Programs
In addition to the ongoing programming described below, the department identifies special programs to address unique opportunities and urgent needs to best serve the university and the surrounding community.
Undergraduate Scholarships
Hundreds of undergraduates get hands-on training in our research labs each year – many that are first-generation college students. In addition to helping students find a career they are passionate about, working in research labs allows them the chance to give back to their communities and strengthen Northeast Ohio. Funding opportunities include:
Graduate Programs
More than 700 graduate students have earned their Ph.D. in the 50 years of our training program. Much of this success is due to the department’s strong commitment to training the next generation of scientists and doctors, including programs like:
Gifts for other programs are also most welcome, such as remembering a loved one, scholarships, or pledging for a future gift. Please contact us at mzaragoz@kent.edu for more information about these and other opportunities.
Your donation is tax deductible and will have an immediate impact.
