Event description: Books. Newspapers. Magazines. Photographs. Movies. Radio. Television. Gone are the days when these were all separate media, each with venerable brands we could trust.

However, convergence has bred confusion about distinctions between media types. Posts on social media are now called ānews,ā while newspapers are now called āfake.ā
If youāre wondering how to determine quality from questionable information online, join us for a presentation on emerging best practices across academic disciplinesāfrom English, Information Science, History, Media & Journalism Studies, and moreāfor vetting digital information before you invest time reading, listening, or watching.
