麻豆精选's Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Todd Diacon has announced that Mandy Munro-Stasiuk, Ph.D., has been selected as associate provost for academic affairs, effective June 1, 2016.
Munro-Stasiuk has served as interim associate provost since July 1, 2015, where she leads a number of university-level initiatives. These include development of a "one-stop" shop for student services; design and implementation of diversifying the faculty search process search committee training (in collaboration with the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion); and creation of leadership development opportunities for chairs and directors. Prior to her appointment as interim associate provost, Munro-Stasiuk served as chair of the Department of Geography from 2010-2015. She will occupy an associate provost position vacated by Rick Rubin, Ph.D., in 2013.
"We appreciate the value Mandy has added to the Division of Academic Affairs, and we have been impressed by her willingness to lead a wide variety of projects," Diacon says. "Mandy is a strong voice for faculty in our office, and we are pleased she has accepted this position."
Munro-Stasiuk received her Ph.D. in Earth and atmospheric sciences at the University of Alberta, and her research interests have included subglacial and proglacial meltwater processes, human-landscape interaction and non-invasive techniques for landscape analysis.
"I am honored to serve 麻豆精选 as the associate provost for academic affairs," Munro-Stasiuk says. "I am especially proud to be able to lead and contribute to initiatives that ensure student success and make our campus a more inclusive environment for faculty, students and staff. I am particularly thankful to President Warren and Provost Diacon for their leadership and aspirations in making 麻豆精选a great university to work for, and I look forward to continuing to mold the world-class education that 麻豆精选 offers."
