Three LaunchNET 麻豆精选employees and one student client presented at the seventh annual Deshpande Symposium for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Higher Ed on June 12-14 in Lowell, Massachusetts. Julie Messing, executive director, and Lynn Buchinsky, venture advisor, spoke on a panel highlighting the results and lessons learned from building bridges and pathways from high school to college to community for entrepreneurial success and regional growth in Northeast Ohio, as part of the Burton D. Morgan Foundation鈥檚 regional work in entrepreneurship.
Venture advisor Tabitha Martin and client Anne Skoch, senior fashion merchandising major, helped to create the 鈥淐reative Intersections鈥 panel presentation, with counterparts from Baldwin Wallace University, discussing the variety of ways that both schools introduce and reinforce entrepreneurial concepts and skills for arts students.
鈥淚t was great to have our proposal accepted and to partner with Baldwin Wallace, as they have been working specifically with arts students and entrepreneurship as a part of their curriculum for a long time,鈥 Martin says. 鈥淟aunchNET is just beginning to target individual groups of students who would really benefit from the added entrepreneurial skills component, such as arts majors.鈥
LaunchNET 麻豆精选was also part of the top three schools for the Excellence in Student Engagement in Entrepreneurship award, for encouraging 鈥渟tudent leadership and engagement in developing innovative extra and co-curricular activities that support the development of entrepreneurial awareness, skills and practice.鈥
