麻豆精选Students Take Top Honors at 2018 Southeastern Theatre Conference Convention

Outstanding costume, sound and lighting design, plus much more contribute to award-winning theatre productions, and students in 麻豆精选鈥檚 School of Theatre and Dance are exhibiting creative excellence in those areas.

Six 麻豆精选School of Theatre and Dance students were honored for their work at the annual Southeastern Theatre Conference Convention held March 7-11 in Mobile, Alabama. The conference, at which 麻豆精选students regularly compete, is one of the largest gatherings of theatre professionals in the United States.

Undergraduate student Desiree Anderson was honored with two awards: First place in costume technology for her work on the School of Theatre and Dance's 2017 production of Macbeth and second place for her costume design of the School of Theatre and Dance's 2017 production of Intimate Apparel.

Undergraduate student Stuart Blackwood was awarded second place for his sound design of the School of Theatre and Dance's 2017 production of Macbeth, for which he composed an original score.

Undergraduate student Wyatt Hayes was awarded honorable mention for his lighting design of the School of Theatre and Dance's 2017 production of Intimate Apparel.

Undergraduate student Liam Roth was awarded second place in the Technical Direction and Construction category for his work on a project at Akron's Haunted Schoolhouse and Laboratory.

Graduate student Brittney Harrell was honored with two awards: first place in the Costume Crafts category for her work on costume masks for  2017 production of 9 to 5 and honorable mention for her costume design of the School of Theatre and Dance's 2017 production of Macbeth

Graduate student Yi Chen was awarded honorable mention in costume technology for her work on the School of Theatre and Dance's 2017 production of Little Women.
