EMPLOYMENT PRIOR TO KENT STATE UNIVERSITY:
I studied at Â鶹¾«Ñ¡for my bachelor’s and first master’s degrees. Then I worked as a Residence Hall Director in Verder Hall until 2006 when I left to attend graduate school at Colorado State. Since then, I have worked in residence life at Naropa University and taught English at Front Range Community College, Colorado State and the University of Northern Colorado. For the last three years I have been the Honors Advisor at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. During most of this time, I also worked with an independent publisher, Wolverine Farm Publishing, in Colorado on a variety of literary and community journalism projects.
LIKES MOST ABOUT KENT STATE UNIVERSITY:
What I like most is that this is home. I grew up a little while north of here, and I love the campus and the town. There are so many great opportunities to enjoy high-quality, cultural experiences and learn from faculty and students in such a wide variety of fields. The staff and faculty always have been welcoming and focused on student success.
ATTRACTION TO KENT STATE UNIVERSITY AS AN EMPLOYER:
It is great to work at an institution that encourages my own growth and development. Whether through the challenges that are built in to my position or the opportunity to further my own education, Kent is a great place to be. I am impressed how the university has grown and improved over the last 10 years.
