EHHS Doctoral Alumna Receives AERA Award

Congratulations to Joanna Dickert, Ph. D., the 2022 recipient of American Educational Research Association's Advanced Studies of National Databases Special Interest Group Dissertation award.

Previously a student in the School of Foundations, Leadership and Administration, Dickert's dissertation is titled "An Examination of the Effects of Participation in High-impact Practices Using Propensity Score Analysis with Structural Equation Modeling."

The national competition included applicants who graduated between Jan. 1,  through Dec. 31, 2021, and used national or international databases in their dissertation study.

AERA is a national research society that strives to advance knowledge about education, encourage scholarly inquiry related to education, and promote the use of research to improve education and serve the public good.

Emeritus Professor Martha Lash, Ph.D., 麻豆精选School of Teaching, Learning and Curriculum Studies, was presented with the 2025 CDC Humanitarian Award at the annual Robin McManus Scholarship Benefit.

The Child Development Center is using new technology to teach skills like counting, directions, problem-solving, spatial awareness, and logical thinking, concepts traditionally reserved for concrete manipulatives.
