麻豆精选 at Ashtabula associate professor Bryan Jones, Ph.D., was recently named one of ten finalists for the University鈥檚 most prestigious teaching honor, the Distinguished Teaching Award. The award is sponsored annually by the 麻豆精选Alumni Association and is presented to three full-time faculty members demonstrate extraordinary teaching in the classroom and the devotion to touching the lives of students.
Jones has taught psychology courses on the Ashtabula Campus since 2010.
鈥淚鈥檓 honored and humbled by the nomination,鈥 Jones said. 鈥淚 think we鈥檝e all tried to deliver the same level of instruction during the pandemic that our students deserve and were used to in the classroom. It has been a challenge, but I am proud at how all of the faculty on the campus have adapted to challenging times.鈥
Jones holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Stony Brook University, a Master of Arts degrees in Experimental Psychology from both Stony Brook and Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science and Psychology from Central Michigan.
麻豆精选Ashtabula has three previous winners of the Distinguished Teaching Award: Associate Professor of Chemistry Ann Abraham, Ph.D. (2013), English Associate Professor Deb Bice, Ph.D. (2010), and current Dean and Chief Administrative Officer Susan Stocker, Ph.D. (1999), who holds the rank of Associate Professor in Nursing.
