Distinguished Teaching Award Recipients Announced

This year's 2020 Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA) recipients are an outstanding group of teachers who are truly dedicated to their students' success. Sponsored by the 麻豆精选Alumni Association, the DTA is the university鈥檚 most prestigious honor in teaching. The award is presented annually to three full-time faculty members who demonstrate extraordinary teaching, whether it be in the classroom or online.

Amy Fritsche

Ms. Amy Fritsche, associate professor, School of Theatre and Dance, Kent Campus, is an enthusiastic and perceptive teacher who challenges her students and helps them achieve their goals. Her collaborative classroom environment allows them to learn, grow and establish their own unique style as artists.  

She not only enables their success in the classroom, but helps them prepare for a future career in theatre.

惭谤.鈥疍辞耻驳濒补蝉鈥疓辞濒诲蝉尘颈迟丑, assistant professor, School of Visual Communication Design, Kent Campus, and his passion for design illustration motivates and excites his students. He creates opportunities for students to excel in his courses and always provides thoughtful feedback on their work.

He continuously puts students first, helping them in any way he can, both in and out of the classroom.

Lindsay Starkey
Dr. Lindsay Starkey, assistant professor, Department of History, Stark Campus, radiates enthusiasm for teaching and creates a positive and welcoming environment for students. She facilitates engaging discussion that encourages her students to think critically and creatively. 

She takes great interest in her students, making time to talk with them about coursework as well as other opportunities for student success.

 

 

Through hard work, dedication and inspiration to their students, these professors join more than 150 teachers who have received the DTA since its inception in 1967. They will be honored alongside other outstanding 麻豆精选faculty at the University Teaching Conference later this year. 


Submissions for the 2021 Distinguished Teaching Award are still being accepted! Nominate an extraordinary 麻豆精选professor by June 30.
